What should a family do first after a missed court date in Danville?

Confirm the facts. Sometimes a hearing was continued or a notice went to an old address. The Danville General District Court records show whether a capias has issued. Then pin down whether the original charge was a misdemeanor or a felony, since that sets the new charge under Virginia Code 19.2-128. Apex Bail Bonds can help a family sort the situation quickly.

Can an arrest on a capias be avoided?

The arrest cannot be canceled by waiting, but its timing can be controlled through a planned return. A defendant who arranges to come back on known terms, rather than being caught during a traffic stop, keeps control and shows the court a willingness to face the case. Under Virginia Code 19.2-149, a bondsman can arrange a surrender. Apex Bail Bonds coordinates that return with the court.

What mistakes make a missed court date worse?

Ignoring the capias, since it does not expire and the forfeiture clock keeps running; leaving the area or crossing into North Carolina, which creates a cross-state recovery problem; and turning to a high-interest short-term lender when interest-free installment options exist through a licensed bondsman. Apex Bail Bonds offers interest-free plans and can arrange the return.
